I hiked a large sand dune for the first time yesterday. What a unique experience! Quite a slog, hiking straight up the side to reach the ridge. A surprise with the challenge of walking the ridge— didn’t expect it to be so sharp. The drop-off on each side looked steeper/scarier than it actually was. A fun time! Bruneau Sand Dunes (Idaho)— 470 feet (143m) base-to-peak elevation change. #MountainMonday #hiking #nature

Oak trees

The foreground is dominated by a vast expanse of a dark, freshly plowed field. The soil is showing distinct furrows and clods that lead the eye back toward the horizon. In the middle ground, two prominent oak trees stand out. The tree on the right is larger and features a dense canopy of golden-yellow and orange leaves, capturing the bright sunlight. The tree slightly to the left is smaller and has a mix of darker brown and some remaining yellow leaves. They provide a striking contrast against the dark field and the backdrop of the forest. The sky is a mix of soft blue and hazy white clouds.
