A sculpture depicting the Virgin Mary giving birth to Jesus was vandalized by being beheaded in Austria, days after it went on display as part of an exhibition exploring women’s roles in faith and tradition.

I like to work fast, and so the report from the past weekend's fieldwork only needs some additional find photos and proofreading by the students before I can submit it. Another fast-working man is the animal #art master Luciano Pezzoli. Today he delivered this reconstruction drawing of an early-10th century sword chape from the Äversta war booty site. The drawing is partly based on better-preserved finds of this standardised type. 1/2
