An old practice from #AIDS movements that I think we should try out for this pandemic: at the beginning of events, inviting audiences to call out the names of people who aren’t here because of the virus. Covid deaths, long covid, people sick today, immuno-inaccessible events, caregivers, etc. It’s so hidden, people think they don’t know anyone despite the huge numbers.

Urban-ish? In the normal course of events I can get everything I need within a two-three mile radius on my bike, on foot, or by bus. Trouble comes when somebody decides I need to do a thing in the next town over. There is public transportation but a) #CovidIsNotOver and b) I really don't have the appetite to spend an hour on the bus each way.

Car users (who are in the vast majority here) think nothing of commuting that distance regularly.

Just your regular reminder that catching Covid will mess you up.

Content warning: sending the wrong signals about covid Reveal/hide

I'd noticed the free mask container at the entrance of the #WashU psychology building has been empty for a while; evidently masks are no longer needed, or else why would they have removed the container? (sarcastic, #CovidIsNotOver)

They were just blue surgical masks, but still a reminder, and a sign that masking is ok. I regularly saw folks pick up a mask and put it on; sometimes upon entering the building, but also if they started coughing during the day.
