Allegedly, somewhere in our family tree on my grandmother's side, we were part Jewish. This is relevant only because I was always told not to give up anthropometric data because "you never know when they're going to get out the meat hooks and go looking for people to kill".

I mean, I can think of plenty of reasons I could end up on a list, inherent red-headed-step-child energy is a big one. But I grew up being told other people were always a hair's breadth from turning into Nazis again, because it's just something people do for some reason. (Also learned the hard way via the other side of the family that was a great example of that concept)

As a result, I never thought commercial DNA testing was remotely good. After learning more about early eugenics scams to get people's data, even less so.
