Devastating scenes of piled-up cars in #Valencia, #Spain today after yesterday’s historic flooding. A year’s worth of rain fell in a few hours with a peak of 500mm.

but remember folks, its simply too expensive to take action against climate change...
in reply to Simon

@hejsimon taking action against #climatechange now means reduced profits for the big companies and billionaires. not taking action means damage to property and goods. rebuilding property and replacing goods leads to increased profits for big companies and billionaires.

@gi124 @hejsimon
privatize profit. socialize loss.

these people are psychopaths who have freed themselves from the yolk of responsibility to others.

they are predators who will happily destroy the planet for money that will be useless in the future.

their logic. if i don't do it. my enemy will.

so they will build their bunkers and accelerate everyone else's death.

@amiserabilist @hejsimon this 100%. so many industries work this way. hedge funds for instance: if you take risks and make money, you get a good bonus. if you lose, the investors pay. if you lose a lot you get fired. take a 6 month vacation, and join someone else with a 20% raise.

privatise profit and socialize loss is 100% the mantra here. and it's working for the top 5 or 10%or so

@paul @gi124 @Simon @Zoom Earth

Ja, die Privatisierung ehemals staatlicher Unternehmen hat in ALLEN Bereichen wirklich gut funktioniert. Für jene die Dividenden abgestaubt haben.

I suppose the automotive manufacturers response to this kind of (more to come) event will be to create heavier cars so it cannot be moved by climate change induced floodings? 🙄
