People deserve a better deal in trading some of their data for connectedness online, former White House official @superwuster tells EFF’s Cindy Cohn and @jgkelley on the new episode of “How to Fix the Internet.” https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2024/04/podcast-episode-antitrustpro-internet
in reply to Electronic Frontier Foundation

It stands to reason that if you want to get a hold of a lot of data, which technically has value, your job would be the devalue said data as much as possible.

This is what happened to the #internet citc 2000, when #ads covered every single page like a plague of locusts. Your eyeball time was devalued.

Then, #Facebook basically devalued your personal information by making it normal to give all of it away.

Now Facebook wants $10 to remove ads, but not #tracking.
