What would you give up to save this #planet?
It's always so easy to demand that the rich should give up their yachts and private jets because you're not affected by it yourself. Those who don't have a car and live in the city demand the abolition of the car without thinking about the people in the countryside. Those who don't use AI and streaming are calling for data centers to be shut down to save power.
(Who now writes in the comments I only use text messages for chatting so I don't care about the bandwidth. I would like to congratulate him because he still has not understood what it's all about.)
Why isn't #Twitter (X) dead yet? #ElonMusk has done everything he can to bury the #platform, hasn't he?
In my opinion, it's the journalists who are treated like dirt (💩) by #Musk but just can't let go of the platform.
That's partly because they prefer to make headlines with #clickbait and scandals and still link diligently on Twitter. In this way, they give the platform relevance in the media and make Musk's rants seem like important discourse. On the other hand, it is because the average journalist is apparently too incompetent to discover new platforms for himself.
I'm probably doing an injustice to the little journalist who is just trying to make ends meet somehow. But it's amazing that the big publishers are so inflexible or have made themselves so dependent on Twitter that they can't or won't switch.

...will make the potential learning curve of #AGI's a lot steeper. Why? Well, for three reasons:
1) i/Because after digesting most of the world's information from the #internet and other online sources, for lack of similar databases of #alien species, there is not much more knowledge to be accumulated ("only" to be processed differently, which is not as "steep").
2) the #InternetOfThings will provide "almost" infinite (and increasing) data points to be processed.

The investigation by #Haaretz underscored the uniqueness of this case. “This is the first case in the world where a system of this sort is being sold as #technology, as opposed to a service,” journalist Omer Benjakob highlighted. Elon #Musk saved us from a #NuclearWar.
Musk’s decision, which left Ukrainian officials begging him to turn the #satellites back on, was driven by an acute fear that #Russia would respond to a Ukrainian attack on #Crimea with nuclear weapons, a fear driven home by Musk’s conversations with senior Russian officials, according to Isaacson, whose new book is set to be released by Simon & Schuster on September 12.

#Hacker gains #admin #control of #Sourcegraph and gives free access to the masses
The hacker gained administrative access by obtaining an authentication key a Sourcegraph developer accidentally included in a code published to a public Sourcegraph instance hosted on Sourcegraph.com. After creating a normal user Sourcegraph account, the hacker used the token to elevate the account privileges to those of an #administrator. The access token appeared in a pull request posted on July 14, the user account was created on August 28, and the elevation to admin occurred on August 30.
