This is a black-and-white close-up photograph of a sturdy metal hitching ring mounted on a very old, heavily weathered wooden barn wall. The wood shows a rough, deeply cracked texture. The grain runs straight up and down like long wrinkles. You can feel how old and worn the wood is: there are splits, peeling patches, dark knots, and areas where the surface has eroded.
