We rarely receive long duration soaking rains in the Reno-Sparks area. While I was gone this fall, I'm told it rained for nearly two days. I wish I had been here so I could play around with making more photos like this one.

Hochkant-Fotografie der Milchstraße. Das Bild ist eingerahmt von Felsen in der oberen linken und unteren rechten Ecke, wobei vor allem der Rechte von unten sanft gelblich angestrahlt wird. Im Zentrum steht das Milchstraßenband, welches sich nahezu senkrecht aus dem Horizont am unteren Bildrand erhebt und ĂŒber das ganze streckt. Die Strukturen sind deutlich zu erkennen und auch die Farben sind zu erahnen. Am Horizont unten steht ein schmales Wolkenband zwischen gelber Lichtverschmutzung. The Union Pacific Big Boy, an articulated 4-8-8-4 steam locomotive manufactured by the American Locomotive Company in 1941. Here, the Big Boy had just crossed the East Branch North Fork Feather River and was parked waiting for a VIP passenger (7/11/2025). I really couldn't have been in a better spot. I thought it was just going to roll by at that location. When it stopped, I thought, "For me?" Lol!
