Seems good to me.. I didn't know bsky supported 3rd party apps though.

I expect there will be quite a lot of pushback for some, since there are some strong (sadly negative) opinions about Bluesky. But I would be thrilled by it. I believe there are also so many people like me who are active both on Fedi and Bluesky (at varying levels of course) because, well, people and friends who have migrated away from the Twitanic mostly went to Bsky. So facilitating interaction with them would definitely be fantastic (I say this while completely ignoring the immense workload this represents, simply to explore the idea).

I personally don't use Bluesky and wouldn't make use of thr feature, but people everywhere deserve better third party clients.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

In general I'd say yes, but only if you really have the time. If the overall development of fedilab suffers, then a clear no.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

As long as people can choose how they interact with it, and can choose not to interact with it at all if they like, I guess it's fine.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

depends; how much would it negatively affect the available development resources for the current platforms it supports?
in reply to FiXato

@FiXato
Development will affect the time dedicated for the current development and also the fact to maintain this part.
If most fedilab users don't use or don't want to have BlueSky, I will not try to implement that support.

Yes but enclosed or something

anyway, i'm on almost every social thing for various purpose

except X

How big is your development team, and is it willing to support a corporate platform that hasn't stated yet how they will make their investors happy, in the future?
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I'm not against it out of principle but there are way to many things to support for the Fediverse and adding BS support would necessarily take time away from better fedifeatures.
Personally, I wouldn't use it anyway
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Results are currently for a non-go but your comments make things even clearer about your opinion.
I will of course respect your choice and put my time to the development that matches your expectations.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I'd see it as a positive, however just minor bonus. I don't often visit Bluesky anyway.
So probably not worth the work from my perspective
in reply to Fedilab Apps

would bluesky contribute tech help or cash as part of the project?
in reply to Fedilab Apps

YES, please. right now I depend on Open vibe app for this - but I don't really trust the owners. is much prefer to use your app for this
in reply to Marnic

@marnic
J'ai eu plein de retours avec des commentaires sur le fait d'éviter un tel investissement de temps dans l'app. Ça ne se fera pas apparemment :)

Would improve life for people using both already and could make it easier for BSky users to also try Fedi! Win-win!
in reply to Fedilab Apps

It already has almost 25 million users, sooner or later they will have to do something to obtain economic benefit.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Seems like the sort of thing that would make development of other features slower
in reply to Fedilab Apps

In a way, it's unfortunate that Bluesky support is being voted down. Fedilab could be a good alternative client for blind Bluesky users. I tried the official Bluesky Android app. Much of users' post text in the feed view is not read by Talkback, and there seems to be no way to swipe over to the main menu. Fedilab would provide a more accessible experience.

Won't accept compromises for supporting any platform outside the fediverse. If they want to partake they can incorporate fediverse connectors or bridges on their own.

But also no active hindering other platforms incorporate such connectors as long as they don't exploit flaws or bring unwanted nor unbearable stress to the fediverse. Keeping those connectors functional is no duty for the fediverse and its development, though.
