Event Horizon: Not as bad as I remembered from when I originally saw this on the big screen.

Random thoughts: Horror Solaris. I love that the Event Horizon is an upside down crucifix.

The original cut was 30 minutes longer and had more development of the supporting characters, studio execs asked Anderson to cut the film because they found it too disgusting, gory and unsettling. I’d love to see the original cut.

all I remember about this movie is that it was not what I expected. Thought it was straight up sci-fi, and was so freaked out by the horror aspect (and the shock that it had a horror aspect) that my friend and I walked out mid-movie. I don’t think i had ever done that before.

Your experience, except for the walking out part, is what I remember of my experience too. I went into the theater thinking sci-fi and was shocked when it took a turn for horror.

the fact that we were both unaware makes me wonder if the marketing was misleading. I didn’t have tons of the money at the time and usually only went to movies I was pretty sure I would like based on the trailers.
