First single from Alterverse drops on November 24.

If you were on my mailing list you'd already heard it, and read the chapter of the Alterverse story. Just sayin

Donations to my #solarpunk short film now at

Yay! It makes me dream of hitting $1,000 in the first week of the campaign. Thank you all so much for coming through for me, as I imagine a future with no governments or politicians or police, and technology exists to make every village self-sufficient so capitalism is no more. We can dream of the world we want to live in!

Yay! It's always nice to wake up to good news. About 6 days after launching campaign to use #film to imagine a #solarpunk future, we've now raised 30% of our goal. Your generosity is touching! I still need your support to boost the drive, and donate if you can, so I can tell a story set in a world with no governments, no politicians, no police. Just ordinary folk running their lives.

No utopia is perfect. There will always be some kind of pain, so in my #solarpunk short film, a couple fight over chicken, but this is not just material for a dark comedy. It is a talk about food as the #climate crisis disrupts farming, with inspiration from food preservation techniques in pre-colonial cultures Help me make this film with a boost, or #donate if you can.

Now at 354/2000 four days after I started a campaign to use a dark comedy film to envision a #solarpunk future with no central government, no politicians, no military - everyone participates in running the country and they use restorative justice to handle crime with banishment as last resort. I'm excluded from #crowdfund platforms like #kickstarter so I rely on you to spread the word!

Someone asked if ostracism in my shortfilm fits #solarpunk I borrow from pre-colonial cultures to imagine how communities will handle crime yet there's no government/police using violence/jail in the name of justice. They will use rituals of reconciliation/restorative justice, but if a person is unrepentant/unwilling to pay compensatory fines, they get banished. Help me make this #film

THE SNOW QUEEN (1988)
Acrylic on Panel - 36” x 24”

Though the cover illustration by Leo and Diane Dillon on the first edition of The Snow Queen, by Joan D. Vinge, was excellent, Warner Books decided to commission me to do a new one.

Perhaps the sequel was in the works, and they wanted a consistent style on the covers of the two volumes. 1/4

Remember lying on the floor reading? I read science fiction and went to other worlds in my mind.
My first was The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet written by Eleanor Cameron in 1954.

It's set in Pacific Grove California & on Basidium, a tiny habitable moon of Earth, invisible from the planet in its orbit 50,000 miles away.

I need to get back to those worlds.

“We live in a bully culture right now. We have bullies everywhere — you don’t need me to point the finger at who, but there are all these bullies. In this movie, Biff is a bully. Time is a bully. For me personally, Parkinson’s is a bully. And it’s all about how you stand up to them and the resolve that you take into the fight with them. It’s about your resilience and your courage. I think there’s a lot to that right now, I think a lot of people are responding to the movie because it strikes chords they wouldn’t otherwise recognise.” - Michael J. Fox
