It's wonderful that AT Proto is federated where there's no one central place that always for things to get stuck or lost or blocked.

I updated my post, because, "Daft-Freak you mean fediverse => Bluesky? They're doing a lot of work on their relay, bluesky-social/atproto#3036 , and they've temporarily paused ingesting commits from federated PDSes like Bridgy Fed. I don't have an ETA for when that will be lifted, sadly."

Nice of them to let people know so people won't blame the Fediverse when it is really them that is causing the issues. ;} I read posts on Mastodon blaming our side for it not working so I investigated.

steve mookie kong reshared this.

@vmstan It's also worth noting that Bluesky to the Fediverse is working but Fediverse to Bluesky isn't.

@paul @vmstan It's really tempting to look at this situation and think Bluesky is acting in bad faith by allowing one-way federation, but I don't think that's the case. They're dealing with explosive growth and apparently Bridgy Fed is the largest third-party datastore by far:

(I feel kinda weird defending them because I don't like the bridge idea and have it blocked but felt it was worth pointing out the technical explanation.)
