in reply to The Conversation U.S. • • •I guess you can keep the Trumpistas happy by using skin color to determine "race", except for one minor problem: it seems that until about 3000 years ago, Europeans mostly had dark skin. Lighter skin is correlated with enhanced vitamin-D production, which was a useful adaptation given Europe's high latitude and limited sunlight.
