I was just looking at the installed software on my work computer and I just realized that #
Adobe Acrobat Reader is taking up 2.5 Gigs. In what world does a #
PDF reader need that much storage. I cannot understand why Adobe Reader became such a vital component of work computers.

👉 A #PDFreader is something virtually no-one can do without. However, there are many alternatives to #Adobe. 👈
I've recently deleted the Acrobat reader. Intrusive #AI integration? No, thanks. Also, it has become way too slow. - Try the #SumatraReader (sumatrapdfreader.org/free-pdf-…). It is super fast and #FOSS.

...business modell for altering websites, I prefer buying a (alas non-FOSS, OFC) software from #ABBYY, its #FineReader. Apart from seemingly being considered word-class by many corporations re/ #OCR, it has a huge pool of languages. (And even if you don't speak them, after doing so, you can still you an AI translation.) Any version above 15 (-> used software) works fine for me.
