I went out for a walk in the snow yesterday morning. Quite nice to be honest.#photography #streetphotography #sunrise #snow

Morning walk. And we are only 20k south of Edinburgh! The dug loves it, my partner is still in bed with a fresh hot chocolate.

Meanwhile we are back in to internet c/o my mobile.

The snow trickles down to earth so softly
Each individual flake
so inconspicuous when each on its own

But when gathered together
on the earth
A picture emerges that changes everything

Covers everything
in white innocence
for a brief moment

Whichever one of you ordered all this snow, it's ready for pickup! 😜
Also, I haven't given permisson for snow until December, and even then preferably only for Xmas week, after that I expect spring. But I'm not mad, just disapointed 😂

On this snowy day here in England, I thought I'd share this post about the Devil's Footprints. In 1885, a long meandering trail of marks was left in the snow in Devon. Though they seemed to have been made by a two-legged animal, they resembled hoofprints. They wound through churchyards & across fields, went up the sides of buildings & over roofs, & jumped estuaries - as if the uncanny being who made them had flown. Sometimes they stopped on one side of a haystack & continued on the other, without the hay being disturbed. Elsewhere the creature seemed to have jumped impossibly high walls or wriggled through tiny pipes. The prints went on for between 40 & 100 miles and were reported in the national press. The marks have been blamed on escaped monkeys & kangaroos, on austere Protestants trying to frighten religious rivals, on untethered balloons, UFOs, sea monsters & swans in padded shoes. A lot of the UK is getting its first dusting of snow today! If you're sharing photos, tag them so we can find them - #snow is obviously a good one, and you can make it regional with #UKSnow :)

Also - alt text your photos please! If you're daunted by alt-text or unsure how to do it (or even why), see mastodon.art/@Curator/11260813… .
