We typically don't like to openly discuss or read about politics, not because we're unaware of events, but because we already have to be aware of a certain amount through our work, and too much overloads us.
However, as a general election has now been called in the UK, we will need to do our due diligence before we cast our vote.
Whilst our primary intention is to unseat our incumbent Tory scum, we will not vote for any transphobe, bigot, or genocide-apologist 🍉 🇵🇸
For instance, if we lived in the constituency where Keir Starmer is standing, we'd likely be voting for the independent candidate (Andrew Feinstein) trying to oust him.
We're aware of websites like Tactical Vote for helping with getting the Tories out, as well as Who Can I Vote For? to get some info on candidates.
However, what we're really looking for is a way to summarise the views, beliefs, and actions that each candidate has taken.
In the case of existing MPs, we can look at their voting records, yes, but it's not in a super accessible format.
e.g.,
For the other candidates, we don't really know a good way that will not require hours of searching to vet each candidate before voting.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
