i'm making a #QBasic game using mode 13h, 320x200 8bpp. i'm using the line doubling feature of the VGA card to make it 320x100 then manually doubling each pixel horizontally for 160x100

i realized i could use a palette with 3 bits red/green and 2 blue, and then do "subpixel" dither to generate the in between colors. i made a converter to test if that would look good, and it does

here's a thread of images showing what that looks like

FUCK IT, MISSING DOS WEDNESDAY

Trying to locate an Australian DOS game from โ‰ˆ 1988, ๐‹๐ž๐ฑ, ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐…๐ฎ๐ง ๐Ÿ.

The game was part of a series of four Edutainment games by Reckon Software/John Grimley.

Here's the box cover art, a text ad, and screenshots of 2 other games in the series! Help a gal out!?

Modern web needs like 100MB just to say "Hello World". I went the other way.

Introducing GASM: A Gopher server in pure i386 Assembly.

Probably runs on the shittiest hardware you can find, or on your Ryzen 9.

I managed to get my new #Palm Tungsten C on the internet and damn, it can still read RSS feeds today! Slashdot and Ars Technica were the only ones I could find with plain HTTP support, but it works really well!
