How does Fedora process patches for security vulnerabilities? The short answer is that we work to stay on top of the news to implement patches, working in the community and with Red Hat for updates.

The long answer: fedoramagazine.org/how-fedora-…

At the end of the day, the best thing you can do is keep your system updated. :)

Thanks to AI, hackers quickly discovered new vulnerabilities such as CopyFail, DirtyFrag, and Fragnesia. They use LLMs to analyse Linux, finding and exploiting the security flaws faster than ever. The expertise required to hack is at an all-time low.

The Fedora Project decided to explain which precautions are being put in place to protect your system:

We are also testing sealed bootable container images! These are installs which "include all the components needed to create a fully verified boot chain, from the firmware to the operating system composefs image."

Please give them a try and give us feedback.

Work on atomic Fedora continues with Fedora Atomic Desktops 44!

The changes made to the mainline variants of these desktops apply, like Gnome 50 and KDE Plasma 6.6. There are also some changes that may affect you if you use AppImages or KDE Vault. Budgie Atomic and COSMIC Atomic are also updated.

However, the best news is how Atomics Desktops continue to evolve toward running as bootable containers as we target Fedora 45 for migrating to Image Builder!
