Colour photo looking down towards the far right corner of a dingy dead-end alleyway. The walls are made of chipped and cracked stone and plaster, with a greenish mossy tinge around floor level, and a mixture of greys and brick and sand and ochre higher up. There are three windows in the right had wall, fronted by industrial-looking iron grates, lit from the inside. The window on the end wall looks spookily derelict - also covered by a metal grill, but backed by absolutely filthy bottle-green netting, with rips and gaping holes, showing only blackness beyond, like something out of a horror film. And to compound the horror scenario, there are four black plastic bin bags stacked in the corner directly under the window, three of which contain the disembodied legs of upturned shop mannequins, with their pale calves and feet sticking up out of the top of the badly-tied bags. Deeply surreal and not a little creepy.
