Colour photo of a window, set into a burnt-orange coloured plaster wall, so entirely filled with plants that you can barely see any of the glass behind - there is a row of pea-green trailing plants in a window box at the bottom, and above them a row of white pots with dense dark green rose shrubs with a couple of red and white flowers standing on the sill, a hanging pot with something lettuce-leaf shaped in it, and at the top of the window a bright yellow pot with a fern-like something hanging from the centre of the frame. It's in full bright sun, and the shadows of the plants make pleasingly odd vaguely tentacular shapes on the wall. The whole looks very merry and invitingly chaotic, like the magical herb garden of a benevolent and slightly scatty urban witch.

Old but still active train station in Alexandria, Virginia.

These architectural treasures are few and far between. So much visual delight that's absent from most of their modern replacements. This is just the hallway that leads from the lobby to the waiting room. The lofted ceiling and soft lighting, church pews for seating. A+ content.
