An arched corridor, leading to a big open sliding glass double door with navy blue signs giving directions to various hospital wards, and a big arched window above it. Through the door is a temporary-looking covered tunnel curving away to the left in the distance, made of narrow plastic panels on both roof and walls making a rippling effect, and sunlit trees above and around. In the top centre of the image, an ornate black metal and glass lantern hanging from the roof of the internal corridor. Directly below it, in the centre of the arched window, a silhouetted pigeon wanders nonchalantly along the ledge. And directly below that, so that all three elements are in a vertical line, a sleek black cat sits in the centre of the open doors, looking up, clearly trying to figure out a way to jump the 10 or so meters to catch the pesky pigeon.

Colour photo looking down towards the far right corner of a dingy dead-end alleyway. The walls are made of chipped and cracked stone and plaster, with a greenish mossy tinge around floor level, and a mixture of greys and brick and sand and ochre higher up. There are three windows in the right had wall, fronted by industrial-looking iron grates, lit from the inside. The window on the end wall looks spookily derelict - also covered by a metal grill, but backed by absolutely filthy bottle-green netting, with rips and gaping holes, showing only blackness beyond, like something out of a horror film. And to compound the horror scenario, there are four black plastic bin bags stacked in the corner directly under the window, three of which contain the disembodied legs of upturned shop mannequins, with their pale calves and feet sticking up out of the top of the badly-tied bags. Deeply surreal and not a little creepy.
