All this passive cooling instead of using A/C would have a huge impact on energy usage.
I reckon that if we could capture and store the #AtmosphericRiver and #Flashflood/#Monsoon-type #rainfalls regionally, that would also be a huge game-changer.

I am not saying that the impact of doing all that on e.g. the global amount of precipitation or the climate will be measurable.
However, I believe that mass-implementing #microclimate technology can be a game change, e.g. for #permaculture. 1) [link follows shortly]

#BernieSanders' approach to providing funding for low- and middle-income #US families to install #SolorPanels at their homes is the right way.
This program should be copied as a blueprint for all countries, at least in #OECD and #OPECplus countries, which do, in prinicple, have the funds:

In particular, the @EU_Commission with its #GreenDeal should pay heed.

Kentucky's supermajority of Republicans in our legislature just overrode the governor's veto of their bill mandating that coal power plants to continue polluting.
All over the country we have local efforts funded by the #FossilFools doing everything they can to delay #ClimateAction
We desperately need to make the transition away from fossil fuels a local issue in as many communities as we possibly can because when it comes right down to it all climate action is local.
New York is also transitioning away from using fossil fuels for heating too.
Utilities in New York have recently submitted plans for 13 pilot projects to replace gas pipelines with neighborhood thermal energy networks.
The bill requires the state's seven largest investor-owned utilities to submit at least one proposed thermal network pilot project for review, and at least one should be located in a disadvantaged community within each utility's service area.
After a period of uncertainty during which Danish wind energy developer Orsted briefly pulled out of the project, the United States' largest offshore wind project is officially back on track.
Sunrise Wind will have a total capacity of 924 megawatts and will create about 800 jobs during construction and 300 during operations.
The wind farm is expected to provide clean, renewable power to 320,000 homes in New York. It is currently scheduled to come online in 2027.
This is so, so crucial as we attempt this vital transition away from fossil fuels.
When these projects succeed, it's because developers engage early and often with communities, showing them why the project matters to society—and to them.
Projects are much more likely to succeed when communities feel the project is theirs or includes them.

Between 2018 and 2022, CO2 emissions from all sources across the San Francisco Bay Area dropped about 1.8% annually, a decrease the researchers attribute to the rise in EVs.
The Bay Area has the highest EV adoption rate in the country: last year, electric cars, pickup trucks, and SUVs made up nearly 40% of new auto registrations in San Jose and 34% in San Francisco.
