A female hollyhock weevil, _Rhopalapion longirostre_. (The females are the ones with the long snoots, for digging into hollyhock buds.) There's a park with hollyhocks right near me so in season I can go and see these cuties whenever I want! And I do.

A warty leaf beetle, which, it turns out, is the adult form of what I dubbed the "poop hat larva" last fall. Much like the larval form, this little beetle looked like a bit of poo out for a stroll.
