US Senate has not allowed presidents to make recess appts since a 2014 #SCOTUS ruling limited the president’s power to do so.

He's not even been sworn in, so he's not even POTUS yet, but - true to form - Trump wants to break that rule. Big time.

Culture war issues could be one trigger for firings. #Trump was asked by FoxNews in June whether he would fire generals described as "woke," a term for those focused on #RacialJustice & #SocialJustice but which is used by *#conservatives* to disparage #progressive policies.

Democrats got a little bit of good news today when media outlets projected two women will win U.S. Senate seats in Michigan and Wisconsin. Interestingly, both states went for Donald Trump, so a significant portion of voters cast split tickets.

With 99% of the votes in, Baldwin led Hovde by 49.4% to 48.5% in a race that drew attention and big bucks from around the country.

Does anyone here like to make phone calls? In the #Nevada #Senate race, #Democrat Jacky Rosen is less than 2,000 votes behind, and there are reportedly some 13,000 votes that need signature curing, which can be done by phone. These voters should be interested to know their vote did not count and they can easily fix it!

The "#DeepState" beaurocrats that corrected some of the #OrangePeril's severest assaults on the American system will quickly be replaced by 100% loyal MAGAT|s, which were vetted by the #Project205 taskforce put in place by the #FederalistSociety.

The #Senate seems to have been flipped Red already, and the #House....

A 2nd-term #Trump might have the edge over a 1st-term #Harris because a #Republican-controlled #Senate could block some of her appointees. Perhaps moderate Harris nominees would get through, though: Most of #Biden’s appointees received bipartisan support. Another potential area of agreement is a bipartisan measure to incrementally increase the total number of federal district #judges to ease rising caseloads. The bill passed the Senate in Aug but has yet to receive a #House vote.

#Harris also wants to enact #TermLimits & an #ethics code for #SCOTUS, given the revelation that Thomas & Alito accepted luxury gifts w/o disclosing them. That’s unlikely if #Republicans control the #Senate — & maybe even if #Democrats do, thanks to the #filibuster.

#Republicans seem more likely to control the #Senate next year. If they do, they can block #a President #KamalaHarris from filling a vacancy, much as they did Barack #Obama in 2016. “If he were re-elected, he’d probably get to appoint one if not two members to the #UnitedStates #SupremeCourt,” Harris said of #Trump last week. She did not say how many appointees she may get if she wins.
