Looking down on a patch of Hens and Chicks, a plant that is considered a succulent. The plant is a combination of larger green rosettes with a center that unfolds creating more layers. They are surrounded by smaller rosettes, that resemble Brussels sprouts. At this time of the year, most of the individual plants are tinged with pale red, signifying spring growth.
