#YouTube has become more and more problematic throwing error messages for all sorts of reasons. Most things i watch are there given the sheer amount and variety of content vs. Peertube.
I use #FreeTube and at times have to change #VPN connections in order to watch videos, at times some will only open in a browser.
It's definitely a hot mess. I wish #Peertube were a viable alternative for more than just #foss stuff but alas, it's not even close for most of what people watch/want.
Found a gem for YouTube (V3 extension: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef…) — which brings the old interface (from the start of XXI century) back. It is more clean, if it is even possible to say "clean" about YouTube interface, and also it is faster as hell than the "modern" one.
On the my box (Thinkpad X220 with i7, 16 Gb of RAM) the usual YouTube lags as hell, even while I'm scrolling. The old interface — works almost instantly, lol.

I watch #YouTube for stuff like food videos, travel, old video games... anything to try to help mental health in the current situation.
But YouTube's "suggestions" bar consistently brings up videos that are political propaganda for the far right.
Just now it suggested "How the Nazis created an economic miracle" FFS 🤮
(And before someone who's watched the video claims it's more nuanced etc etc etc, what percentage are going to actually watch every video on their suggestions? The main effect of this suggestion is a banner ad doing PR for Hitler.)
I've edited out the name of the channel to avoid giving it visibility.
There is a #tech youtuber called codehead that included a gif of #nazi nick #fuentes in one of his videos. I asked in a comment if they did it on purpose and they were coy about it with a "mayhaps" reply. They hearted my comment, maybe thinking we were doing a secret handshake or something.
