This site, Mastodon.cloud, is not secure. It has been abandoned and is currently running outdated software with a known security vulnerability. Please migrate to an alternative site.

Mastodon.cloud is also being de-federated, meaning it is being disconnected from the rest of the Fediverse. In the future, other Mastodon and Misskey sites will no longer communicate with Mastodon.cloud.

Details concerning this version of Mastodon 4.1.25.

Clever, let’s make this trending so hopefully the people on .cloud see this

@dzwiedziu Oh no, someone made the @warning account on the instance and posted this

A good test to see if the team reacts since i have a strong feeling they are not

@stux @dzwiedziu

Yes, I'm just someone who happens to work on the Internet for large evil corporation, and between my work task, likes to occupy myself on the Fediverse.

Anyone looking to migrate, feel free to join mstdn.social as we are up-to-date and connected with most of the Fediverse!❤️

Ofc there are many other instances, no wrong choice:

@stux I always felt, federated platforms like Mastodon need to offer some features, that allows people to support it, like "upgraded" accounts with special instance emojis or something

@stux
☝️ If you are looking for a server to join or migrate to, highly recommend mstdn.social

@mastodonmigration @stux
Nah, I think masto.ai is way better than mere mstdn.social. After all, it’s in the Anguilla domain, and that sounds like Anguirus!
in reply to Warning

How does this work, will other platforms auto reject if a version is too old?

@Blu2 In theory no, only if something is changed in the code that breaks it

But in general we block domains/instances if they are too much of a risk and .cloud has been the target of spam attacks but they don't take action

^ This post serves as proof that Mastodon.cloud has indeed been abandoned. Many people have tried to reach the administrator, but there has been no response. The administrator has not posted since February 2023, three years ago. The site has not been updated since April 2025, one year ago.

You can call the administrator a jackass, and they will do nothing about it, because they are not here. This is what all the fuss has been about. It has become lawless and anyone still on the site should leave.

@the5thColumnist@ottawa.place

" Who is paying for the servers ? "

I believe it was @stux@mstdn.social who said some corporation owns the site. That would most likely mean it is setup for automatic payments and hosted on whatever other digital infrastructure they have setup.

in reply to stux⚡️

@stux @Linux

It was more of a rhetorical question. Why are they paying for something but otherwise totally ignoring it. Is that what they cal prvate sector efficiency.

in reply to Richard W. Woodley 🇨🇦🌹🚴‍♂️

@the5thColumnist @Linux Ah! Good question!

Maybe it’s ’not much’, I just posted about how the person running it got hacked for 4 million not that long ago. They seem to be very ‘wealthy’ with crypto
