PeerTube is a good platform to publish videos, but not a good platform to watch videos. As a user, PeerTube is really bad: you can’t create an account (as a user), so you can’t subscribe. You can’t have a timeline like Mastodon, with your latest videos. Discovery is awful, and there’s no incentive to use the platform (it’s best consumed elsewhere, like Mastodon). I can’t consider it an alternative as long as they don’t address these problems.

Google drive -> syncthing+borgbackup (sure, its a little bit of a pain to set up, but works great for sharing files and distributed backups)

I like NewPipe, Pixelfed seems a bit "thin" and my particular instance is not allowing direct video upload, UpScrolled seems a bit political but with some actual reality, instead of mainstream propaganda. Been on ecosia for ages - pretty good but some results differ from same searches via chrome,etc

except Mastodon I don't use anyone of them . Actually I don't need any of them. I like to listen or watching my favorite music & movies instead of using those apps. Or I likes to play with son. We both pretend hulk & Thor or spiderman and fight with each other. That makes us happy.
