You need to tag all the #GenocideJoe people on this, because yes, we've been through this before: "both candidates are the same", but they won't be for all the #gay, #transgender, #disabled, #black, #immigrant, #anarchist, #Ukrane, or #palestinian people who these people are talking about throwing under the bus over "principles".
No one has ever changed the election system with "#boycot the vote" campaigns, they've only allowed people who want to make it worse to take more power.
No, the Democrat candidate is not our first choice. I like her, and I think she'll do good, but she's not #Warren or #Sanders, though they're campaigning for her. Bigger picture though: we have made MASSIVE progress with the Democrat party since 2016, and we have a real shot at getting rid of the #TwoParty system in the next couple decades, maybe even the end of this one, but there's only one path to victory there, and it's not by letting the party that wants to get rid of the #democracy itself get reelected.
@NSalwen @Raccoon I have to block dozens of these people every week when they get triggered from my posts about Harris-Walz. I honestly think those types of people hate this country and want to see it crumble.
@NSalwen I understand the frustration, both on the #Israel / #Gaza front and on the other things, but just the ongoing business as usual. The problem is thinking that #boycotting the election is going to push us at all in the right direction.
Biden has been walking the thin line of "quietly oppose #Netanyahu without pissing off Israel supporters or getting impeached", with Kamala being more aggressive about opposing Netanyahu, while Trump has basically said he'd like to put larger munitions on the table. I understand not liking the position we're in, but the difference is night and day.
The #Nazis and their sympathizers are legion: they are not bounded by the scruples of whether or not Trump will go easy on some group, and they certainly don't care about the #Isralis OR #palesinians. They want him to get in so they have a vessel to do as much damage as possible.
All of that applies to people thinking of voting for the Green (Getting Republicans Elected Every November ) Party. Those people who don't know that Stein is collaborating with Putin, taking money from the Republicans, and doesn't even know how many members of congress there are.
The best line from this video is that she was thinking in those terms from a place of safety ( without the shitshow that would follow from Trump ).
I tried to tell them, but nooooooooo I was an alarmist, I was too old to care about people her age, I was pathetic for supporting an oppressive two party system. I hope more of them understand that his last term in office will look like a liberal paradise compared to what will happen if heβs elected again.
@leeolds itβs unfortunate how so many (particularly young) voters need to learn this the hard way time and again. And I say that as a naive Nader voter from 2000 who feels like Iβve been paying penance ever since, even though my state went for Gore by a lot.
@leeolds yes. Young people are also impatient when confronted with societal problems, and I think we do a poor job educating them on the pace of positive changes in society and how much active resistance and societal inertia those changes face, and that solving big problems takes sustained efforts over long times.
ALL of these little shits are responsible for the incredible loss of life and shitshow we have been living through. I DO NOT FORGIVE ANY OF THEM. You little fucks better do the goddamn work every fucking election to get a #Dem supermajority so we can restore our #democracy Entitled brats who made everyone's lives hell.
