What #encryption do you use for your everyday #communication?

I'm not talking about your nerd friends, who can be counted on one hand and who know a thing or two about the subject. I'm talking about your normal friends, business partners and colleagues with whom you communicate both professionally and privately.

I was recently called by my support via Microsoft Teams because I had to enter some passwords. The support team proudly said that they were contacting me via Teams because it was more secure than the normal phone. He was then very surprised when I told him that Teams is unencrypted and can be intercepted much more easily.

frankly, i cannot communicate "securely" with "non-nerd" friends, who use the standard commercial tools.

For me, the question is moot, since my communications are generally incomprehensible....

Its a bit of a flaw the whole encryption security thingy.
Sure, we “use” perceived highly secure app, solid encryption or some fancy obscure safe software no-one have heard about to communicate with other like-minded… Only to then go on use the very same devise (phone or computer) to communicate with grandpa, mom, colleague or a everyday friend but via the only mediums they know how to use (facebook, insta, snap, telegram, ect).
You are only as secure as your device. It does not matter how super-duper encrypted your communication are if your device is compromised.

buy two copies of some random remaindered book and use the mofo as a one time pad.. that's what we do when we want to be 100% secure.. Just because they tell you it's secure doesn't mean it is.

MILITARY GRADE ENCRYPTION

That phrase in an ad is a real red flag. It signals snake oil.
