What #encryption do you use for your everyday #communication?
I'm not talking about your nerd friends, who can be counted on one hand and who know a thing or two about the subject. I'm talking about your normal friends, business partners and colleagues with whom you communicate both professionally and privately.
I was recently called by my support via Microsoft Teams because I had to enter some passwords. The support team proudly said that they were contacting me via Teams because it was more secure than the normal phone. He was then very surprised when I told him that Teams is unencrypted and can be intercepted much more easily.

I communicate short, inconsequential messages using SMS. And, of course, I talk to people face-to-face.
I'd like to do a lot more chatting with people over the Internet, both voice and text, but my friends and family won't cooperate. I like Jami. I also have Quiet and Session installed, but my friends and family don't.
I use email, but not usually end-to-end encrypted. Somewhat surprisingly, no one seems to have a problem with the Tuta (formerly Tutanota) address I use for business, and sometimes family. It's easy to send and receive messages in the clear, and they can also be encrypted. I prefer not to use Tuta's encryption. I prefer to encrypt and decrypt with GPG (using EasyGPG). I have some other secure addresses as well, but I usually reserve them for special cases.
Of course, I end up sending email to Gmail and other insecure services with that "public" address.
Otherwise, I communicate as I am doing rig

Otherwise, I communicate as I am doing right now, in public. Of course, my D* pod doesn't know who I am. I created the account using Tor, and I only use it with Tor. All of my Internet use, except for my bank, also uses a VPN. The bank is an exception because they get nervous when I appear to be in Europe.

You are only as secure as your device. It does not matter how super-duper encrypted your communication are if your device is compromised.
