Google just announced internally that 28 employees have been fired in connection with sit-in office protests this week over the company's cloud contract with Israel. Follows 9 employees being arrested yesterday. Full memo to Google employees warns that "if you’re one of the few who are tempted to think we’re going to overlook conduct that violates our policies, think again"

It's always difficult to know what precisely they were doing. Protesting the cloud contract is one thing. But for so many people it seems difficult to protest Israel's politics without being antisemitic, it may well be that that's what they're fired for.

I wish I could be sure.

Nonetheless, Google's cloud contract still kills people.

@clacke ah, yes, because nothing is ever wrong with the government of a territory confusing the land they manage with an ethnic group that happens to form a significant part of its population.
