Before the genocide, the education sector in Gaza was thriving. Despite the occupation and blockade, Gaza had one of the highest literacy rates in the world, reaching 97 percent. The enrolment rate in secondary education was 90 percent, and the enrolment in higher education was 45 percent.
Textbooks were distributed for free, and families received support to buy bags, notebooks, pens, and school uniforms.

Max Gustafson:
"Hej!

⚠️ Mastodon social AGAIN removing posts that show the truth of the genocide.
The post was not sexual nor was it violent. The video was broadcast on normal TV by a channel that is careful to censor actual violent imagery.
Again the German mastodon social moderators show their bias. Fucking disgraceful.
We know some people are maliciously flagging posts - the moderators should have learned not to be Israel's propaganda puppets by now.
Disgrace to humanity.

The 2025 World Press Photo of the Year has been awarded to Samar Abu Elouf, a Doha-based Palestinian photographer, for her poignant image of Mahmoud Ajjour, a young boy severely injured while fleeing an Israeli attack in Gaza.
Captured for The New York Times newspaper, the photograph powerfully conveys Mahmoud’s suffering and resilience after an explosion in March last year left one of his arms severed and the other mutilated.

Members of the Board of Deputies, the largest body representing British Jews, have said they can no longer “turn a blind eye or remain silent” over the war in Gaza.
In a significant break with the board’s customary support for the Israeli government, the 36 signatories to an open letter published in the FT say “Israel’s soul is being ripped out”.

"Problemet sträcker sig bortom propagandamaskiner från svensk höger. På nyhetssidorna speglas samma världsbild som hos både [Petter] Wennblad och [Fredrik] Malm. Women and girls in Gaza “suffer triply”, says the UN Population Fund regional director for Arab states, Laila Baker.
“They suffer with their own health – with many of the health facilities and the infrastructure almost completely brought to a halt, … with medication and supplies being denied. Their malnutrition is also at risk, and they also are the caretakers for their families, so they put their own health and wellbeing aside.”
All Palestinians in Gaza want is ‘a little bit of peace’
But now the bombardment has resumed, more people have been killed, new forced evacuation orders have been issued, and Palestinians are exhausted; all they want now is another truce deal that would give them a little bit of relief.
