@HistoPol
It's the maximum fine allowed in the law, but his being found guilty of contempt can affect his bond in his other criminal cases and also increase the chances of him being put into jail if found guilty so it's not just about the dollar amount.

@GreenFire

Thanks, Kevin. I had anticipated the max rate.
Clearly, once again, it isn't a law for the rich, but for the poorer masses of the population.

Other advanced nations forsee a fine calculated on the daily rate of income, e.g. in Germany.

9 violations already, with no end in sight, this law is clearly not working.

It's good to hear, though, that there's something else in store for #TFG, as he'll surely continue to ignore gag orders.

@HistoPol Sadly the law only allows the judge to fine a max of $1000. That said, he could also give #45 30 days in jail.

@HistoPol the judge could do both, depending. I suspect the fine will be paid but not sure if he can keep his mouth shut.

#USpol #Legal #FediLaw

Sounds good, but I am sure #TFG will be unable to keep his mouth shut for 2 reasons:

1) As he will be convicted in at least one trial, his strategy is to de-legitimize the #US legal system ("#WitchHunt," etc.)

2) The megalomaniac cannot accept that a mere judge tries to gag him, aka "no-one tells Donald J. Trump to shut up!"
(except maybe #Putler or #MBS, but that's a different 💵 tory.)
