A photo of one of the first blooming plants, a 6 inch tall ephemeral (early and short blooming) in my area; its still mostly closed. Its a delicate but prominent single white flower, structurally like a raspberry but with shiny pure white petals and a dense center cluster of orange reproductive parts. The basal leaves are crumpled in a ball, silvery underneath, veins in patterns, waiting to unfold.

For #MountainMonday: A photo from way back in 2013: wildflowers and a view of the Tatoosh Range from Mazama Ridge in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State, USA. While Rainier gets all the attention, I almost preferred photographing the Tatoosh during my trips down there.

Some purple and yellow wildflowers in the foreground with green small shrubs, small trees, and a few peaks of the tatoosh range in the background. This photo was made at sunset, so there is sunset light on the mountain peaks and one small ridge with trees on it, with a leftover patch of snow in the shadows of that ridge.
