I decided to ease into my hiking in Iceland adventure by doing a Workaway for the first month. I'm staying in a beautiful town called Akranes with a lovely Icelandic family. I'm working part time in exchange for accommodation and food, and I'm able to test my camping/hiking equipment on my days off. So far only my jacket and sleeping pad are a big failure 😁
The Hubba Hubba tent and phantom sleeping bag have held up in below freezing conditions, so that's a relief 😅

Camped by the Norman River, near Normanton, Queensland, Australia.

A stone's throw away from the Gulf of Carpentaria.

This picture is mostly sky. The silhouetted crest of a low ridge frames the bottom, a silhouetted pine tree frames the left side. The tops of 2 other trees barely poke into the frame. The rest of the frame is a pale blue gray sky with dark purple gray clouds drifting past. Those just above the horizon have streaks of dark orange against the purple-gray, the rest have streaks of bright pink.
