It doesn’t mean anything though. My gran had a silver carriage clock—’ ‘You’re safe inside.’ The old man’s voice was the merest thread. ‘The woods and the flowing waters are the boundaries. Tell the boys—’ Car tyres crunched on the gravel outside the window.
