1. We could use a few more followers. Yr. humble #fediverse servant is gonna hafta fill out a performance review at some point! 😂

Who asked for this? And what's the point? It seems rather anti-social to focus on number of followers or total posts, as if it's a competition.

For Steam/Spotify, a yearly summary makes sense because it reveals what kind of activities you are engaged in, in a way you don't notice as you perform it day by day.

Pie-charts of used hashtags and network charts showing most interacted-with users would be much more interesting, and maybe most active time of day and weekday.

With mastodon's new Wrapstodon thing rolling out on their own instance, I went hunting on how to generate these reports.

Thanks to @lutoma who provided me with instructions, I've written a short blog post on this here:

The UI of this is serious weird and out of sync with the rest of Mastodon though....

In December 2021 I set myself a goal: Add a year-in-review feature to #Mastodon before the next December. It's December 2024 and it's finally, slowly rolling out. It's not all that it was meant to be, because we couldn't prioritize it over all the other things we work on, but I didn't want to miss another year.
