Question: Has chaos.social taken any action against the moderator who muted accounts that are Gaza Verified? I mean, you understand what an inhumane action this is, yes?

That is not a “mistake.”
That is evil.
That is genocide complicity.

We get a lot of reports for spam/donation requests in general. A couple of months ago, we muted accounts with a gazaverified link in their bio -- we reversed this decision when a user pointed this out to us, and have since taken great care to *not* take any moderation action against accounts with the gazaverified profile link, literally part of our mod checklist.(I can't guarantee that we never get this wrong, but we're happy to fix mistakes if people talk to us.)

The moderator did not purposefully mute accounts that were Gaza Verified; instead, while processing many reports during a large spam wave, for some accounts, they *overlooked* this fact, and corrected the mistake when it was pointed out.
The moderation checklist was amended (by this moderator!) to explicitly remind moderators to check for Gaza Verified (which is a good thing, lots of spam reports still). No Gaza Verified account was muted outside (before or after) this incident.
