The basic color is yellow-brown to red-brown. It has four impressively patterned wings that merge into one another. In the middle are four dark, greenish, drop-shaped spots on a brown background. Info: The Attacus atlas silk moth has the largest wing area of all butterfly species. The wingspan of a female can be up to 30 cm. It lives in tropical and subtropical forests. As it only has a rudimentary proboscis and no stomach, it can neither eat nor drink and therefore only lives for a few days.
