The head, neck and a little of the body of the same Grey Heron. The front of the bird is facing towards us in this view, so the white neck with its black streaks is visible. The head is facing to the left of the picture, with a thin, straggly plume or aigret extending backwards from the top of the head.
A Grey Heron standing in waterside vegetation which includes the leaves of reeds and grasses, and some Buttercup flowers. We can see pretty much all of the bird bar the lower legs. The head and neck are as described in the alt text for the first image in this series but in addition we can see the feathers of the lower part of the neck (which is held almost in an 'S' shape) hanging down below it. The body is mostly grey, the legs dark.

Look who just decided to show up in our backyard, this afternoon!!!!

A very handsome, mature & inquisitive #BaldEagle. He was perched up in a tree, near our old, rusting swing set. Stayed there for about 10 minutes before taking off. He was pretty close! This is from my Samsung Galaxy 10 camera phone.

If I happen to enter your house, please don't hit me with bats or squash me out; it hurts a lot and on such occasions I'm very scared. It was an accident and I didn't mean to scare you.
If I land, I may not be able to get up and I need your help. Just grab a towel and pull me out carefully. I'll fly right away, I promise.
I feed on mosquitoes and many other insects.
Our houses are being demolished to build other buildings and we still have a few places to go. So if I'm flying in your space, turn off the lights and leave the outside light on with the door open, I'll be out shortly."
