Honestly, I'm a little disappointed in my US hacker colleagues. There's stories about daily "visual inspections" of hotel rooms at #defcon and #blackhat, but not a single story about someone having a huge-ass thing labeled "conspicuous hacking machine" in their room.

As someone who's sometimes skeptikal of Pirate Software/Thor (streamer/game dev) I can't help but wonder how much truth there is to this, since I'm not a programmer or knowledgeable with code stuff whatsoever, I don't know much about DEFCON.

So it seems that the DEF CON badge contains the new RP2350 chip that is in the recently announced Raspberry Pi Pico 2. Among other improvements and goodies, this thing has two Arm Cortex-M33 cores and two RISC-V cores.
Know what else is super cool? They announced at $10,000 bug bounty for the first confirmed break of the newly introduced signed boot process AND partnered with two vendors to make products that make abusing the security on these devices easier!
As i understand it, one of the vendors, Hextree, will be in the Embedded Systems Village along with some Rasp Pi folks.

My latest #DefconNails are inspired by Jon Buckley's "High Tech Monopoly" and feature 2x hidden Mifare Classic 1K "magic" chips (can write to UID and sector 0) and 2x custom NTAG213+LED nail stickers that I designed.
I've been doing #NFC nails since 2015, and Mifare nails since 2017, but I've never really done any videos showcasing their capabilities. So this year, I've made a video that shows me using a #FlipperZero to clone my hotel room key onto the Mifare magic chip on my middle finger, enabling me to unlock my hotel room door with my fingernail!
