Like a lot of you, I'm still shocked and dealing with grief over the election; figuring out where to go from here.

I haven't watched any TV news, or kept up with online publications I usually read, etc. But today I listened to a 3-week old "Politics Girl" podcast.

It was powerful, sobering, informative, and a little bit inspiring in a weird sort of way.

It's worth a listen.

#AI's role in #Election2024 wasn't the catastrophe many feared, argue Harvard scholars Bruce Schneier and Nathan Sanders .
While deepfakes and misinformation existed, they didn't overwhelm democratic processes, and AI helped with voter outreach, campaign operation and AI-spam detection.

Mornin’.

Election day here in Ireland today.

Over 3.7 million eligible to vote.

686 candidates nationwide.

Nobody arsed enough to come down my lane to engage for my vote though.

And the #bees will still be as endangered next week.

Climate still as cooked.
Hot air as usual.

Change is always possible theoretically.

But highly improbable in reality.

Why can’t the good organise?

Carry on.

This is Trump et al taking a sledge hammer to the Federal govt. Or, as Steve Bannon likes to call it, the administrative state.

Insurrection by sabotage from within: that's Trump's true agenda.

The takes about 2024 that I agree with or that validate my priors are also bullshit.

#Trump won on disinformation validated by horserace journalism that treats facts as points of controversy.

He won on an imaginary depression, an imaginary crime wave and imaginary hordes of undocumented immigrants pouring over the border.

It wasn't Gaza or Dems using pronouns or refusing to say "illegal aliens" or Harris reaching out to Republicans or any of the rest.
