Ein quadratisches Foto, das einen abgeschnittenen Baumstumpf von oben zeigt. Darauf wachsen mehrere Schmetterlings-Trameten in unterschiedlichen Farben und auch noch zwei kleinere dunkle Pilze mit runder Kappe. Die Fruchtkörper der Schmetterlings-Trameten bilden zum Teil mehrfarbige Rosetten, die wie Blütenblätter wirken. Auf dem Waldboden um den Baumstumpf liegen vertrocknete Blätter. Moos wächst auf und um den Baumstumpf.

These striking filaments are the reproductive structures of Spinellus fusiger, a parasitic fungus commonly known as bonnet or pin mould. It lives by infecting host mushrooms, producing thread-like sporangiophores that end in minute spore capsules, giving the mushrooms a fuzzy, pincushion-like appearance.

A single, slender mushroom emerges from a lush bed of moss and lichen. Its dark brown, conical cap is covered in a striking halo of fine, radiating white filaments that resemble delicate hairs or threads spreading outwards in all directions. These filaments are the reproductive structures of Spinellus fusiger, a parasitic fungus commonly known as bonnet or pin mould. They catch the light, creating a bright, spiky effect around the mushroom's cap. The mossy ground is a vivid shade of green, with soft textures and various pale green lichens scattered throughout. The background is softly blurred with green and brown tones.

DE: Zwei angeknabberte Pilze stehen im Wald nebeneinander. Der linke Pilz ist deutlich höher und ausladender als der rechte Pilz, allerdings ist er auch schon zur Hälfte verschwunden, während der kleinere Rechte seinen nur etwas angeknabberten Kopf nach vorn neigt. EN: Two nibbled mushrooms stand next to each other in the forest. The mushroom on the left is significantly taller and more expansive than the one on the right, but it has already disappeared halfway, while the smaller one on the right tilts its slightly nibbled head forward.

For #FungiFriday I wanted to post these False Parasol #mushrooms growing in the landscaping mulch at my local grocery store in #BatonRouge #Louisiana. These are reportedly poisonous, but are rather pretty.
Three large white mushroom caps rise above some dark brown mulch. A few dried cypress needles are seem on the mulch.

This is the worst dip in mental health I've had in quite a while, but I'm doing better. Turning things around. Grief snuck into the mix and got involved (grief's always involved). I forget that grief is sticky. Even small griefs will attach themselves to other griefs like a fatberg.
Anyway, here's some mushrooms from our pasture. I tried to paint them in gouache, but it ended up looking like a pile of potato chips.
