"If you are active on any Internet sources about this, please spread the word that we have lots of food and water, which is wonderful what is actually needed for donation is PPE and respirators for the cleanup. There is extensive chemical damage to the water, which has made all of the mud in the cleanup areas toxic. People are getting chemical burns just from doing cleanup."

I just received, in my account, $750 for assistance from #FEMA.

I received the base amount.

For people using #bleach to treat their #water. I did this for a long time. The recommended amount is eight drops per gallon. You can successfully achieve this by pouring a little bleach in the cap and then pouring the smallest amount out you can. One quarter cap is more than plenty.

Stir and wait 30 minutes.

I set up my fastest 3D printer to print 12 at a time, resulting into 38 minutes and $0.6 cost for each portable shower. I'm gonna be ripping through these!!!

Looks like we have a winner for the 3D printed shower you screw onto a 1L bottle of water. It also includes a way to interrupt the flow by simply covering the pressure relief hole. The print is fast and cheap, and can be done with any filament printer.

In the first hours after the storm passed I was desperate for information.

My mind raced.
No #cell, no #internet, no #electricity.

I remembered this old #LG #phone with this funky fm #radio app. It requires something plugged in the headphone jack for antenna.

I found #pbs and just hearing anyone, anything.. was so comforting.

It has come in very helpful for info and media not draining my current phone.

Hey, folks. Just wanted to pass along that The Creamery in West Asheville, just up from the RiverLink bridge, has WIFI available from the outside, and a power strip on the front steps. The address is 167 Haywood Rd. A sign in the front door has the information to join the network. I also want to give a HUGE shout to Patton Avenue Pet Company downtown, which has been letting people use their WIFI for the last 2 days.
