Funny how none of the 4500+ gods recorded in human history ever introduce themselves. People only ever know of the concept of a god from other human beings. Sure, we are story-telling primates and we invent gods to fill the gaps in our scientific knowledge (yes, even banging rocks together is science if it's repeatable), but most children are taught about (and to fear) a regional god by other humans. The god never shows up.
