One way of understanding middle class political disquiet in the UK is to look at international comparison of the earnings of the top 10% of workers (which includes the 'upper middle class' & is what many budding middle class workers aspire to in their careers).
While the top 1% are still doing well in international terms, the relative fall in top 10% incomes may explain some of the middle class anger that seems to lie behind our current political travails?
