I'll be at the Byres Road Market in Hillhead Library again this Saturday from 11am until 4pm, with my Glasgow-themed books, prints, calendars, and the last four sets of these rather beautiful tenement tile ceramic coasters, which are the perfect present for the tenement fan in your life.

I've temporary removed them from my online store so I don't run out of stock before saturday, but if I have any left I'll put them back up again afterwards.

If you can't attend my event tomorrow (1st December) at University of Glasgow, it's available to live stream at the link below

uofglasgow.zoom.us/j/848479852…

It's going to be an interesting and lively conversation about my book Drystone - A Life Rebuilt, writing, publishing, life. Chaired by the brilliant Simon KΓΆvesi. 1pm start.

I believe you can also ask questions vie the livestream.

A gable and turret from a neighbouring 1860s Victorian gothic church reflected in a window of the 2010s Gurdwara Singh Sahba on Claremonth Street in the West End of Glasgow. It's this sort of mix of complimentary architectural styles sitting side by side to create a single united streetscape which, for me, helps make Glasgow such a special place to live.

A squirrel urging me not to obey a Do Not Feed The Squirrels sign on Kelvingrove Park in the West End of Glasgow, although given the warning below it, I resisted! The sign isn't an official one, but was created by A Sign of Humour.

Glasgow's has been found to be the best city in the UK to raise children. Yes, it's a survey by an estate agency (so make of that what you will), but it's interesting to look at why the city came out top. This includes the amount of green spaces for playing (twice as much as London), good air quality (the cleanest of all cities examined), the best healthcare index of the Scottish cities included in the survey, good schools and safe streets (with a relatively low crime index).

After Edinburgh was #Glasgow. What a wonderful city - I really enjoyed it, and it is such a short train ride from Edinburgh. The park along the river is beautiful, and there are plenty of pedestrian-only thoroughfares in the central part of town. #Scotland
