Please let us know what's happening in the coming days. I'm using a few #Hetzner services and if they decide to act like a ruSSian propaganda puppet I'll move all my data to somewhere else, let them know why I did it and tell others about it.
If mstdn.social falls off the #fediverse all of the sudden, we'll know what happened: #hetzner. Here's hoping Hetzner is not going to react in a knee-jerk fashion.
I would start looking for other EU server providers immediately because other people have had #Hetzner yank their access away without warning, delete their data, and hide behind their TOS as a reason to do so.
Even attempting to bring everything in house would be a massive up-front investment, you'd probably have to jump through legal hoops for zoning purposes, and you'd have large ongoing expenses for redundant power, internet access, and hardware @Bellingcat
When I went to sign up for #Hetzner, it was because a lot of people said it was best.
So, I signed up, created an account and order and they immediately suspended my account.
When I inquired, they wouldn't say why my account was rejected. I whined on here and people said I needed to file a support post and beg. I had already inquired with them. Was waiting on a response.
After they responded they couldn't tell me why, I asked them how long they were going to keep my personal data and billing info, which was never used because they immediately suspended me after I submitted my order.
Smugly, they replied two sentences, "Your account is deactivated. Your data will be deleted from our system after the legal retention period has expired."
May someone at hetzner trip over the power cord that keeps the entire operation humming along, is my opinion. @kiwix
