I am a bit jealous of that ;) Around were I live it is extremly rare to find abandoned houses or other buildings, so it is nice to see those kind of photos.
@ambivalena Oh, sorry, Recreational Vehicle (RV). We have lots of abandoned buildings on public lands in the west but also there are a lot of really interesting old buildings on private property. I can often get a good composition from the public road but ninety percent of the time there is an ugly broken down RV next to or inside of the old building. I suppose it could tell a story, but it is not the story I am interested in. I like a clean shot of how the building and wood are weathering.
@ambivalena That's too bad you are not closer to where there are interesting abandoned buildings. I love exploring ghost towns. There are so many in Nevada, all with the same story: Someone finds a bit of gold or silver, a mine opens, the developers move in, and a town begins to form. After 10-20 years, all of the gold or silver is gone and the people move away leaving the town to disappear into the sagebrush. I like finding a place where an old photo was shot & making a "then & now" photo.

Some things like that (an RV) can really mess up your intention with a photo.
There are areas in Sweden with a lot of abandoned buildings to, but it is really far from were I live, unfortunately if you like to photograph.

Whole ghost towns are really rare in our country as far as I know, but it must be a real treat to photograph?
